Cornus kousa 'Venus' ™

The rising Star of Europe's plant world
Cornus 'Venus'™ is a thrilling novelty. The size of its bracts and the abundance of its flowering make it the rising star on plant heaven. Its autumn foliage is remarkable. Additionally, it resists anthracnose. Baumschule Eberts has the sole licence rights for Europe.

Cornus 'Venus'™ received two awards for the best novelty of the year. This was at PLANTARIUM 2007 in the Netherlands and at IPM 2008 Essen, Germany.

At the IPM 2009 show in Essen, we realized that Cornus 'Venus'™ is starting to become known. At the Chelsea Flower Show last year, two plants in the Capel Manor Garden, in full flower, were said to have been a "showstopper".

IPM 2010 has started well, and it is clear that Cornus 'Venus'™ is becoming widely known. This is due to many articles in the professional press. 'Venus'™ received the Most Successful New Plant Award at the 2009 Garden Retail Event. Several plants will be flowering this spring in prominent positions in the RHS - Wisley Gardens, Surrey, Capel Manor Gardens, Enfield and Chatsworth House, Derbyshire.

'Venus'™ will again be presented at the Chelsea Flower Show in London this year. Larger specimens will be featured and it is bound to look even more spectacular. That is not too hard to achieve since the show is exactly when 'Venus'™ is at the peak of its flowering. The visitors of the Chelsea Flower Show can be considered to be amongst Europe's finest and most discerning plants people. Therefore we can join in the song:

"If you can make it there (at CFS) - you will make it everywhere."
